Do the rims have an official approval or homologation for road service?

No – the rims are designed for the use in motor racing competitions. Because of this they are not homologized for road service. The rim parts will be delivered without certificates.

Is the road service of the rims nevertheless possible?

From experience it can be said that the rims can be certified for road service in case some requirements are fulfilled;

The wheels must have free travel under all driving conditions. Maximum spring compression and maximum steering condition will be checked by the motor vehicle assessor. These extreme movements of the wheel must be considered for the selection of the rim parts and be checked during the assembly.

The rims must not be driven in winter operation – road salt will corrode and destroy the rim parts.

The car should be in a good or excellent technical and maintenance condition. In case of this a technical expert or motor vehicle assessor will act on the assumption that also the classic rims will be ideally maintained.

Historical documents and approvals (as well as photos) from the period of the car that refer to the classic rims will help to prove the contemporary character of the wheels. With these documents it often is possible to get the homologation for road use.

Ask the responsible assessor which assumptions must be given and which documents must be proved. Ask in your automobile club for copies of homologations or other documents that can be useful for the homologation process.

Will the rim parts be delivered with any warranty?

No – the rim parts are developed for the use in motor racing competitions. Motor racing components are high performance parts. Due to this, these parts are excluded from warranty.

Is it possible to change the parts after delivery?

Before order please contact us to check the selection of the rim parts. By this order mistakes can be avoided.
Trial assemblies of the rims and the resulting signs of use on the parts will hinder a resale of the parts. In regard to this we have to exclude a change of the parts after delivery.
All rim parts will be quality checked before delivery and carefully packed to avoid any damages. In case of any failures or damages on the delivered rim parts we for sure will change the damaged parts.
